Upholding professional standards UKLC has recognised professional therapy insurance with Balens. This was a great achievment for us as a training school, it meant we could now train qualified massage, beauty and complementary therapists in breast cancer aftercare, a first in this country!

Advanced training for therapists who care enough to make a difference!


Who should apply for the course?

Qualified* massage, beauty and complementary therapists, with six months experience of massage practice with the exception of nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists. All applicants must also hold a current professional insurance certificate. Insurance requirements: your massage qualification must show that you have received at least six months training.


What skills are required?

UKLC Lymphatic Pressure Therapists will apply this new therapy and advise clients who may be distressed or embarrassed by their condition. An excellent ‘bedside manner’ is therefore essential. Applicants should also be:

  • Caring and tactile with a strong desire to provide post-operative breast cancer care.
  • Confident in their own ability to provide excellent UKLC standards of care.
  • Empathetic with good listening and communication skills.


Training and Assessment

  • A three month assessed home study course. Recommended study three to five hours per week.
  • A five-day practical training course which commences with an entry test.
  • Following attendance, an additional three months of home study and a minimum of 32 hours of Lymphatic Pressure Therapy LPT administered on four case study breast cancer clients is required. Each case study requiring a total of eight hours to complete an LPT treatment. Comprising two hours per week. 
  • The final exam will comprise one-hour theory, one and a half hour practical and a 15 minute oral exam. 2 hours 45 minutes in total. This course is VTCT endorsed.

Training Cost -  Only four students trained at a time 

Course cost £1,800 inc VAT. A £300 deposit paid one week prior to commencement of home study, followed by four monthly payments of £375, fully paid before attended course commences.

Course Commences - HOME STUDY starts Monday 11th June 2018.

Attended Training - Monday to Friday inclusive 10th - 14th September 2018.

Exam Date - Monday 10th December 2018.
